Trends in Taiwan’s Electricity Carbon Emission Factor
The electricity emission factor is a key indicator for measuring a country’s progress in reducing carbon emissions. Because Taiwan’s industrial and residential consumers both rely heavily on electricity, indirect (Scope 2) emissions from electricity use make up a significant share in overall national emissions. Decarbonising the power system is therefore one of the most important strategies for lowering overall emissions and achieving net-zero goals.
